Patrick Byrne Goes Public, Richard Grenell Says Nothing
Patrick Byrne alleged on Infowars that Richard Grenell was compromised by Russian intelligence through sexual abuse of underaged boys in Serbia. Grenell has not responded.
In October, Patrick Byrne1, a US businessman and political activist with long standing ties to Trump aligned networks, made public allegations that Richard Grenell was compromised and subject to blackmail by Russian intelligence2. Speaking on Alex Jones’ programme3 and later on The Absolute Truth with Emerald4, Byrne alleged that two independent sources in Eastern Europe, one linked to organised crime and another to an intelligence service, had told him that Grenell was vulnerable due to illegal sexual conduct abroad, including allegations involving underaged boys. Byrne said the responsibility for the claims was his alone. He presented no documentary evidence. No charges have been filed against Grenell, and no court has adjudicated the allegations. Grenell has not responded publicly to Byrne’s statements.
The allegations are serious and unprecedented, not because they emerged from official proceedings, but because of where they appeared and what followed. After Patrick Byrne’s public broadcasts, multiple sources familiar with the matter in Europe contacted The Gunpowder Chronicles independently. They did not provide documentary proof, but stated that similar claims had circulated privately for years within certain diplomatic and security circles. Intelligence officials approached for comment declined to respond. The Gunpowder Chronicles formally sought comment from Richard Grenell, presenting him with detailed questions concerning Byrne’s claims, including allegations of compromise, blackmail, and alleged misconduct, and offering him the opportunity to deny or address them on the record. As of publication, Grenell has provided no response. A screenshot of this outreach is attached to this article for transparency. The allegations remain unproven and are not the subject of any known legal proceedings, but they have not been publicly disputed by Grenell to date.
It was against this backdrop that we began to reassess a pattern we had already been documenting.
