The Censorship of Ethics: Journalism’s Crisis in Kosovo
In September 2024, an episode of the TABU television program was recorded in the studios of KTV in Prishtina, Kosovo. The topic was professional ethics and the code of conduct in journalism, an issue as timely as it is contentious. Among the invited guests was me, Vudi Xhymshiti, a journalist who has built a career on exposing truths that many would prefer remain hidden. Alongside me was Agim Kasapolli, a veteran journalist from RTK, Kosovo’s national broadcaster, whose reputation for integrity rivals my own. The recording was a deep dive into the critical issues facing journalism in Kosovo, touching on the ethical dilemmas that define our work and the role of the media in national security. But as of today, this episode remains unaired, an apparent casualty of censorship and unfounded accusations.
