In the echoing halls of Western media, where truth is meant to reverberate, a disturbing silence has crept in, a silence woven with obfuscation, selective outrage, and dangerous complicity. The recent portrayal of the Maccabi Tel Aviv-Ajax Amsterdam clash provides a stark illustration of how the machinery of disinformation operates, laying bare not just the failures of corporate journalism but the profound need for independent voices to challenge the status quo.

Though I am not inclined to align with Elon Musk’s sweeping critiques of the Western press, moments like these force me to question my reservations. The persistent distortion of events, particularly those related to the genocidal policies unfolding in Palestine, leaves little doubt that mainstream outlets often prioritise narratives that align with powerful interests, truth be damned.
