Today, on June 3, 2025, we have formally informed Ms. Sidorela Gjoni via WhatsApp text message regarding serious concerns about her recent broadcasts on the show Shqipëria Live.

In the interest of public transparency and accountability, we are publishing the message sent by our Chief Editor, Mr. Vudi Xhymshiti, to ensure the public is accurately informed of our position and the context of this communication.

Below is the full text of the message sent to Ms. Gjoni:

Hello Ms. Gjoni,

My name is Vudi Xhymshiti. I am an independent investigative journalist and Chief Editor of The Gunpowder Chronicles, based in London.

I am writing to you regarding a matter of serious concern. In the course of our investigative work, we uncovered an operation targeting me personally, initiated by Mr. Milaim Zeka. He deployed an individual associated with the Russian Secret Service, who attempted to coerce me into publishing a fabricated document¹ alleging that Mr. Richard Grenell was receiving funds from Russian oligarchs. Upon thorough verification, we established that this document was entirely false.

Following this, our investigation expanded to Mr. Halit Sahitaj, whom you refer to as a "businessman." Unaware that he was under scrutiny, Mr. Sahitaj provided information linking himself to Mr. Zeka. This led us to uncover a document titled the John F. Moynihan Whistleblower’s Complaint Report². Further analysis revealed that both Mr. Zeka and Mr. Sahitaj are part of a wider network aiming to discredit and undermine the International Court of Justice in Kosovo, based in The Hague.

Given the gravity of these findings, we deemed it crucial to continue our investigation and publish our results to inform the public.

What concerns me deeply is that you have since provided a platform for individuals who were the subject of our investigation, without making any apparent effort to contact us or verify the information directly with the original investigators. Through your commentary and association with these individuals, who, according to our findings, are engaged in criminal activities, you are inadvertently promoting their narrative, which seeks to undermine justice and manipulate public perception.

I respectfully urge you to review our published investigation thoroughly and engage with us for clarification and accuracy. Furthermore, please be advised that our legal team in London is currently reviewing your commentary and its potential defamatory impact on our professional reputation. Under Ofcom's broadcasting standards and UK media regulations³, which apply to your broadcasts as they are transmitted into the UK, you may be held liable for any damage caused.

I believe you have an opportunity to rectify this by publicly addressing the issue and issuing an apology for the harm caused to our work and reputation. What may be permissible under Albanian standards is not acceptable under British law, and we will pursue all necessary legal avenues to protect the integrity of our work.

I hope you will take this message seriously and act accordingly.
